11/19&20

We didn't have anybody here to charter so we got together a few friends and went anyway. We wore out the king mackerel both Saturday and Sunday. If you want to get in on some fantastic fishing call now so we can get out before this weather changes its mind.  By the way, any day the bluefin tuna might show up while we are catching kings and we'll be ready for that if it happens.

11/16/11 Great day for king mackerel fishing off Hatteras Inlet.

11/14/11

Unfortunately, we did not have a charter today but the other boats really nailed the king mackerel! There were reports of a couple boats catching 2000 pounds of kings each! The action is hot as it can be when the seas kicked up the next day. We have some calm weather in the near future so call now and get in on this incredible fishing!

11/12/11 Hot Dog! The fish are here. This was Saturday's catch with Kenny Kerr and Francis Lupi. Kenny also caught a citation that weighed in at 40 pounds.

Oct. 2011

Folks, it hasn't been easy to be a charter captain around here since the Hurricane. It wasn't until mid-October that we had very many island visitors because of Hwy. 12.  To make matters even worse the sea conditions and fishing have now been very good for the entire month. Let's hope that it picks up soon.

9/12/11

Thanks to Irene we haven't had any visitors to take fishing so I took out my friends Melba and Bob. Even though the fishermen aren't here the fish sure are. Melba also caught a sailfish which completed her season "slam" of a blue marlin, white marlin, and sailfish.

8/24/11

We had a quick 1/2 day trip with Sheila Littleton and friends from Tennessee and then we had to take our boat inland in prep for the approaching storm.

8/23/11 Mike Shinsky and friends for a limit of dolphin.

8/20/11

We had a great mahi catch with my son, Dru, and his two sons, Drury and Joshua, Mike O'Neal, his son Eric (yellow shirt holding the big dolphin) and Will Bundy.

8/17/11 Another excellent mahi catch with my son-in -law Neil Fleishman and my two grandsons (Joey and Marky).

8/16/11

We fished with Nick Rachael and his friends on the 16th. They wanted tuna and we caught some with a nice wahoo and even a few nice dolphin mixed in.

8/15/11 Pete and his great crowd came to fish with us so we limited on dolphin and also had a wahoo and some tuna to boot.

8/13/11 Donald and his crew were stood up by another charter so we hooked him up and had a great inshore trip for spanish mackerel.

8/9/11

Nice day for an offshore trip with Brad Cohen and friends. We had a nice limit of dolphin and some tuna mixed in the catch.

8/6/11 Today we went offshore with Chris Campbell and his family. We caught a lot of dolphin and could have caught many more but we decided to try for something big. It was a good trip with even a few tuna to top the catch off

8/5/11  AM Jason Ellis with family and friends on AM 1/2 day inshore charter.

8/3/11 Dave Fulton and family salvaged a slow day offshore with some big spanish mackerel coming back inshore.

8/2/11

Jeff Wuertz with a great catch dolphin, two wahoo, one a citation, and a sailfish.

8/1/11 Jerry Gray and friends on an inshore half day trip.

7/31/11 Mike Miller and his group had a good tuna catch with a sailfish at the end of the day.

7/27/11 Dennis Barous and friends from all over the country had a good 1/2 day inshore fishing spanish mackerel.

7/23/11

On Sat it was rough but K.C, Rocky, and Troy from West Virginia handled it OK and we caught all of the dolphin they wanted and Rocky caught a big sailfish.

7/21/11

On the 1/2 day trip Ryan, Blake, Mike and ladies had a good time and caught plenty of fish. They came all the way from East Tennessee. We are all fan's of Tenn. football.

7/20/11 Richard, children, and friends with great dolphin catch, the limit of big bailer's

7/18/11

Dave Daniels and his family had a ball. The spanish mackerel were biting good and they were larger than normal. I wish we could catch them all of the time.

7/15/11

It started good, but ended up rough so we went to the beach for some relief but there wasn’t much biting inshore. At least the waves were manageable and since Rick recently fought the wind and took over 6hrs to get home he was ready to make the change. We did catch a nice wahoo 25lbs plus and the young lady holding it had a hard time since she is left handed and the reel is right handed. The other young lady caught a nice dolphin so we were happy

7/12/11

We had Bill Craft and a great crew onboard today. We started off very slow but finally ended up with a nice catch. The fish were all of the way to the shoal and the other boats wouldn't make the run so we came out good.

7/7/11 Brian Hines and group had a great ½ day inshore.

7/6/11 The Mike Cornwell family had an offshore trip scheduled and we tried but the fishing was so slow offshore that we came inshore to get some bites.

7/5/11

The weatherman said it was going to be too rough for an offshore trip so we enjoyed a great ½ day trip catching spanish mackerel inshore with the Barrows family.

7/3/11

It was rough day out there but at least we salvaged a decent day of catching dolphin with John Bare, family, and friends. Good work guys.

7/1/11

Today we had a spectacular trip with the Richard Clark group and caught close to 300lbs of mahi (dolphin) today with two of them weighing 30lbs each. Plus we had beautiful weather.

6/30/11We ay

6/27/11 Great catch with George Oarock and friends.

6/22/11

Another great dolphin catch with Roger Hager, wife, and family, but he wanted just a few dolphin and then fish for marlin. We hooked a blue marlin that was about 400 to 500 lbs on a 50 outfit and fought the fish about 30 minutes but the fish was too smart and kept going straight out about 300 to 400 yards then made a sharp turn and ran right at the boat. I dodged him 5 or 6 times but the last time he came under and around the rudder. That was all she wrote Roger and all were very happy for the chance.

6/21/11 Great fishing day with Josh Thomson, wife, and children. We really hit the dolphin well.

6/11/11 Tim Blackman and friends have a great day on dolphin.

6/10/11 Blaine Hamistek and his wife with a good dolphin catch.

5/20/11

5/19/11 We had a spectacular day with Don Bell's group from Gettysburg Pa!

11/21/10 Big thanks to anglers Kenny Kerr and his friend. We had a big day filled with bites most of which were tuna.

10/23/10 Mike and Bob with an incredible limit of kings. We actually caught 2 limits with some up to 50 lbs.

10/19/10

Sea Angel

Dear Captain Bruce and Mate Bob,

Our group had a wonderful time today as you got us on the fish and we hit the bluefish fast and furious. We could not have reeled them in any faster   We will be back again next October. Much appreciation for your patience as regards our lack of experience. We all learned a great deal, had a wonderful time. And we appreciated the skill of our Captain returning to dock through a nasty storm.  A great experience for all of us upstate New Yorkers facing a long cold winter upon returning home from this vacation. We look forward to chartering with you again

Thanks so much for a great day this afternoon.

Dave and Kathy Worden, Jeanne and Ingrid

Day 2 - Only two blue marlin hooked and released with none weighed. There were a total of 11 billfish hookups and 7 released.

Day 3 - 528 pound blue marlin weighed by Carnivore currently in 2nd place for a potential $220K payday if it holds up. Conditions so far have been warm and calm which is not considered to be prime for marlin fishing.

6-14-10

Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament (Day One)  Well, It was a pretty deflating experience for most of the competitors as the Citation weighed in a day one record blue marlin at 883 pounds! This was the only billfish weighed Monday and one of only four blue marlin boated. The other three were released. There were only 10 billfish released total. Marlin Mania released a white marlin in the morning and hit a triple header on sailfish later on giving them 4 billfish releases on day one and setting them in good place for the week. Sea Creature weighed in an outstanding 52.4 pound dolphin.  This just proves that  there are some big blue marlin swimming out there if someone wants to go after them!

5/13/09 First Place (so far)! We released the first and only blue marlin caught today in the Hatteras Village Offshore Open. It doesn't get much hotter or more exciting then it is right now! We are seeing and catching among acres of large bluefin tuna. In fact it's hard to get away from them. They seem to be following us just to get caught.
